FAQ | Rust in Time

Will the item I receive be rusted when it arrives?

This is the most common question asked to us! Most of our products are supplied in a ‘partially/non rusted’ condition allowing you to enjoy the beautiful change to rich warm hues of the rust patina that forms during the maturing & rusting process.
How long with it take for the metal to start to rust?

This depends on our wonderful weather, typically once the item is outside in the elements the rusting process will start within a few weeks. If it is wet or damp outside the rusting process will start much quicker, likewise if it is very dry it will take a little longer. Enjoy the process!
Can i speed up the rusting process if i wanted to?

Yes, this can be done by spraying water onto the metal periodically as water & moisture is the key to the rusting process.
I have received my item and there are a few scratches and scuffs on the main face? Is this normal?

Please be assured that any surface scratches, scuffs or blemishes will not be visible once the item has rusted. These minor marks can occur during the manufacturing process and nothing to worry about. We have fully weathered and tested many of our items to ensure any scuffs etc cannot be seen once rusted.
How do i install my new purchase?

It is recommended that heavy duty gloves are worn when installing our products as they are made from metal. All efforts are made during manufacturing to remove sharp edges however this cannot be guaranteed so please always handle with care. For installing ground items it is also recommended that the installation area is saturated with water for easy insertion into the ground.
Can you create something unique or bespoke for me?

It's a YES from us! We love to produce bespoke items for our customers including animals, house/business signs, & much much more! When we are commissioned to produce something unique, designs are drawn and sent to you as the customer to review & approve. Once approved a listing is created summarising everything so the item can be purchased. Contact us for more information - We are always happy to help!
